Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Michigan

Charged with sexual harassment

I have a friend who is being charged with sexual harassment in our office. He was indefinately suspended with pay, but has had no chance to explain himself or even been told who is accusing him of sexually harassment and in what circumstances they were under. We believe that he's being set up, can you let me know what the laws and policies are for this case?

Re: Charged with sexual harassment

Believe it or not, if he is not unionized, he has almost no recourse against the company. The only protection a worker has is if there is specific protection under the law, such as for race, religion, color, creed, national origin or sex (not necessarily orientation). The family leave Act gives some other protections. That is why people unionize!!!
