Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Michigan
I Currently live in Michigan and i went out to the movies with a girl i work with. She is only 16 and i am 20 and the movies were just a friend based trip, but when we were there, a couple of here friends seen her there and now are spreading rumors about us being together. This has been the only incident where we have even hung out outside of work, and it was nothing more then a friendly movie, but her mom is very strict and by the book. She also works at the prosecuting office in my county and told her that i was in danger of getting into a lot of trouble because of these rumors, and that the police were already looking into this. It seems to me that she has some pull in her job to try and get me in trouble, and the only thing i did was take her to the movie, no touching, no sex, no nothing. Should i be worried that this word of mouth can land me in trouble, and if so, what laws are there that would put me in jeopardy of being prosecuted? The only thing i can find is something about lewd acts on a minor, but i am only 4 years older and i thought this pertained to anyone with an age difference of 5 or more years.

No much to do in White Cloud, is there?
If no one in law enforcement has contacted you, your worries are groundless. No competent prosecutor should be interested enough in small town gossip to issue a warrant for this.
