Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Michigan

Sexual Harrassment

If a patient has made inappropriate advances toward a doctor or health care provider, is the provider required to see the patient for emergencies or any specific treatment? Can the patient be immediately dismissed, and not seen for emergencies in a Dental office? Please give me specific laws.

You simply tell the patient that he is no longer welcome in your office and that you will afford him no further treatment.

There is no requirement at all that the dentist treat the inappropriate patient. Dental emergencies are normally not life threatening so there is no duty to treat. Would a determatologist be required to treat such a patient? William S. Stern
