Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

Accident on a Suspended License

I just got into an accident driving my parent's car, but my license is suspended. I am not at fault and no further legal action will be taken against me other than driving on a suspended license. Since I am not at fault and there are witnesses that say I'm not at fault, can my parents try to get money from the at fault's insurance?

were you injured in the accident? If so, you might not be disqualified for benefits or third party recovery, as long as the vehicle was insured. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz

Re: Accident on a Suspended License

Michigan is a no fault insurance state. Your parent's insurance generally will pay for any repairs to your vehicle and for any injuries you may have sustained. However, the fact that your license was suspended may effect the coverage. If you need help with this contact my office and we can discuss this further.
