Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan
I backed into a guy in feb 2014 and broke his passenger side mirror. We decided not to call police and i gave him $260 to fix it. a month later he called trying to get more money from me and i said no. so in July 2014 he filed a police report and they sent me a no insurance ticket in the mail. Is this even legal? and am i gonna get stuck paying this and possibly being sued by this guy?

Yes the police can mail you a summons for the no insurance. There are very specific rules in regard to suing negligent drivers "mini tort" etc. It's highly unlikely that you would be sued for for the minor fender bender. If you have questions feel free to contact me.
