Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

bicycle hit by car entering a yield to crossers section

truck stopped for a biker just. My daughter was just behind the biker and proceeded across. The truck started up and hit my daughter. Is the truck occupant liable on her insurance to cover medical and other expenses of the girl on the bike?

Hello, I have received a copy of your posting regarding the injuries your daughter received. The first question is whether you have auto ("No Fault") coverage. The second question is whether your daughter was seriously injured. Medical expenses are normally covered by your own auto insurance, although there are special rules that apply to pedestrians. Second, the other driver and the owner of that vehicle are respnsible for the pain, suffering, etc suffered by your daughter if she suffered a serious injury. You should contact a lawyer to resolve these issues. John C. Talpos (http://www.Mich-Lawyer.com)
