In general, no. Was it a local or state cop? There are certain exceptions to this rule, however.. Speeding tickets can be won or plea bargained down. Do not simply pay it- contact the Court and request a hearing. Paying the ticket entails admission of guilt and creates risk of auto insurance increases, SOS responsibility fees and impairment of driving privileges.
