Re: Driving under the influence of alcohol
It depends on your driving record, whether there were minors in the car, whether anyone was injured. Penalties range from 0 to $5,000 in fines, up to 5 years in jails, license suspension to permanent revocation and possible forfeiture of your vehicle. The severerity of the penalties are largely based on if you have prior drunk driving convictions. In October, Michigan law on drunk driving changed decreasing the blood alcohol level and increasing some penalties. You should talk to a lawyer as soon as possible.
