Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan
Driving While License Suspended
My license was suspended for failing to pay a traffic ticket. I called the courthouse and paid off the fines via credit card and was told that the suspension would be cleared. I was pulled over a few days later and was still written a traffic ticket for DWLS. I then recieved reciepts in the mail showing that the violations were cleared prior to the date I was ticketed. I went to the arraignment and plead not guilty- so a pre-trial date was set. I contacted the prosecutor numerous times and even sent him photocopies of the clearance papers and the original citation showing that the supsension was cleared before the ticket was issued. I would have thought this would have been adjourned by now. Do I have anything to worry about at the Pre-trial? ( I also visited the Secretary of State and was told that no re-instatement fee was necessary)
