I was convicted of Attempted Fleeing and Eluding under the Motor vehicle code in the District court. I have been told '' It is outside the courts jurisdiction to sentence the Defendant'' Is this correct? What if any reourse do I have?

Re: Fleeing and Eluding Motor vehicle code

that is because it is a felony, and only circuit courts have jurisdiction over felonies. your case will be transferred to circuit court for sentencing (however this usually happens at the beginning of a felony case, not after a conviction).

it doesn't make sense that you were "convicted" in district court - do you mean "charged?" was this part of a plea bargain and/or were there other charges involved that were perhaps dismissed?
