Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

My son has keyed this guys car and they have not given us a claim yet. It has been over four months and he has not called me back on this. How long does he have intil my son does not have to pay it?

The statute of limitations for suing someone for damage to property is 3 years. So technically he could wait that long. If he hasn't asked, then let it be. If a court required you to pay it, just keep your efforts to contact him documented, such as your phone bill showing your calls to him. If he doesn't answer you or give you the bill, then don't worry about it.
