Re: leave a accident scene
Hit and run is a serious offense-- a misdemeanor that will cause 6 points on your driving record. A lesser included offense is failure to report an accident and carries no points and less in fines. It's within the prosecutor's discretion whether he will you charge you with the lesser offense. The best advice I have for you is hire an attorney. The cost of legal representation will be far less than all the fines, costs, and hikes in car insurance that you'll incur if you proceed alone.
