Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

Michigan Driver Responsibility Fee/ Will They Freeze My Assets?

Hi, I was assessed a drivers responsibility fee for a drunk driving. The total cost is 1,000. I am a college student, the money in my bank account is verifiable as coming from federal loans. I work at a job making 69.72 a week. Will/can they freeze my bank account over this?

Please let me know, I feel I am being terrorized into paying something that constitutes an undue burden. At least the courts will work with you these people want their money NOW! Also if this law is repealed in October will I still be liable for the money I still owe?

Your bank account won't be affected if you don't pay, you will have your driving privilege suspended until you do pay.

The state will arrange payment terms if you ask.

What makes you think this law will be repealed in October?
