pulled over for object in mirror
After being followed for almost a mile and a half or more I got pulled over for an object hanging in my rear view mirror. As the cop came up to my window he wouldnt tell me what I was pulled over for and asked me to step out of the vehicle. He ended up giving me an MIP and transportation of open intox. for a bottle of Captain Morgan that was on the floor by the back seat. I felt that the stop was ''pretext'' and my rights were violated. the object(s) in the mirror were a parking pass and an old garder, that didnt take up much more than the rear view mirror itself. It was just an excuse, Also as he followed me he drove so close that at times you couldnt see all of his headlights, (Tailgating). It was dark out and it, I dont think he had for sure probable cause that the item was an actual obstruction to a clear view of the road. I got a lawyer, do you think I could get it waved for an improper stop?

Re: pulled over for object in mirror
If you got pulled over for a legitimate reason, no matter how silly it may seem, the police may look in your vehicle if they have reason to do so. If you have a lawyer, you should be discussing this with him, not this forum.
