Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan
I was pulled over yesterday, I was driving north bound and there was a cop sitting on the right side in a parking lot also facing north, after I drove past him he pulled out and raced up the street to get behind me and pull me over. I was not speeding or doing anything illegal. When I asked him why he pulled me over he literally stuttered and had to think of reason-he finally said my plates were expired. Ok so he saw my plates were expired from the side of the street? So he asked for my ID, registration, insurance, AND my passenger's ID who happens to be black(I am white), what reason did he need my passengers ID? So he went to his car for like 15 minutes then finally came back and gave me a ticket. I also want to point out the fact that he did not even see my cracked windsheild! Can I fight this ticket?
