Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan
I recently received a ticket for limited access speed. I went to the court house and was told by someone this ticket wouldn't have any points. then I went in front of the judge and she told me the ticket would not be reported to SOS at all, my insurance would never find out and there would be no points.
Today I got a letter from SOS asking me to go to Basic Driver Improvement Course because I got a ticket that has put a point on my driving record!!
I'm due to pay the fine next week but this isn't fair! They went against what the judge said!

Limited Access Speed does not carry any SOS Points, however it is reportable to the SOS and your insurance Company can assess their own (private) point system. If the Judge told you that limited access speed is not reportable to the SOS, then that Judge doesn't know what he/she is talking about.
