Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan
Traffic Accident, Other person ran red light
Recently I was involved in a traffic accident where the other person ran a red light. I was turning left, the green left arrown was on and he blew threw the intersectiion I struck his vechile. Now my car is not fixable and I have no way to get to College or the money to replace my car. Can I sue him for the loss of my car?

Pursuant to MCL 500.3135(3)(e), you can sue the other driver for up to $500.00 for damage to your motor vehicle to the extent that the damages are not covered by insurance." as long as you are not more than 50% at fault for the collision. MCL 500.3135(4)(a).
