Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My Brother passed away March 7 2010, and he owed me $9,000 dollers. How do I go about putting in a request to probate on this matter, and what is the time fram? As far as I know there is on will.

Once an estate is opened, you can file a claim as a creditor. If no one opens an estate, you can open it yourself as a creditor. Hopefully there are probate assets to pay your claim. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
