Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

We are going through a court battle in which we do not know who we are dealing with; the people we petitioned against, the probate court, or our attorneys. My question deals with our attorney, we listened to our legal advice and made decisions based on their expertise. After years of in and out of court we realized that our legal team is just waiting for the outcome, whatever that may be. We sit in court with hands in our lap without anything to put on the record. Needless to say, everyone is making decisions without our input. If I were to file a petition myself, to introduce our concerns to the court; would I get in trouble with the court, my attorney, or both? Would my attorney be obligated to represent us even though they did not file the petition? Would I have to represent myself in this matter?

Your question is so broad that it is clear that you do not have a grasp on the issues in your case. You have to be able to articulate exactly what the issues are in your case and what was done to address these issues. You have to be able to articulate exactly what court decision you are awaiting. Since you do not clear understand the issues, it is highly unlikely that you would effectively represent yourself.
