My dad passed and my home was in his name?
My home was in my fathers name and when I called the mortgage company to let them know he had passed, they made it sound as if I couldn't keep the house and continue with payments. They also told me they could not go after my mom or me as long as neither of our names were on the title or on the sale contract. If they don't let me keep it, is it possible for them to go after my mom and take what she got from my dad? This is a manufactured home and I prefer to walk away from it, but not if they can go after my mom. My dad had a will/trust and from what I have seen no probrate thus far but does that mean it could still happen?
