Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan
I am engage to get married in 2010. I am concerned because my fiance is in debt. If he were to pass after we are married, would I be responsible for the debt he acquired before we married? Also, after his death as a married couple what debts would I be responsible for?

If the debt is solely in his name then the creditor cannot pursue you, regardless of whether you are married or not. Simple answer.
