Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

estate question?

We have a situation in which we need to know some advice. My mother is elderly and in a very unstable mind frame. She has been for a long time. It has come to my attnetion that our ''family'' lawyer has suddenly taken over her estate and has taken care of all of her bills. It is a complicated story. Another example of why we are questioning how legal things are is when the ''lawyer'' created a pretend charity in which he was named head of the charity so that he could buy the house from my mother who no longer could make the house payments. There are several other small situatyions that have come up and I am questioning them all now. Is there something for us to be worried about?
