Father died intestate-separated from current wife

My father died w/o a will. He was separated from wife and had no joint property with her. He did have financial holdings. He and wife married after they had two children all 18+. Wife is now personal representative, and it does not appear they will share. I am 23 years old living in DC while in grad school. Death took place 5-31-01 in Michigan. What can I do?

Re: Father died intestate-separated from current wife

If your father left no will, you have a share as an heir. However, if the estate is under $75,000 or so, it could all go to the wife in spousal allowances.

You should have received a copy of the inventory listing what his assets were.
