Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My father -n -law passed away in May of this year. He left the house to one son and the rest of his possessions to be split between the other three siblings. We just got papers in the mail called appointment of personal representative that requires our signatures. No one has received any item or has been given anything indicating what he owned.

What should the siblings do?
