Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My father passed away and his "live In" lady friend states there was nothing left. I know my father had a sizeable CD and some valuable antique cars. What rights do I have to pursue this? There was an attorney however he can not divulge any information concerning a will, he stated that if there was a will I would be notified. I do not want to cause a rift however I feel I am entitled to know where my fathers assets were assigned or where the proceeds were spent. Please advise.

As your father's heir, you are entitled to know about your father's assets and will(if thereis one). I may be able to provide you with information regarding your father's assets through computer research and I recently had a case like yours were I was successful in retreiving a deceased father's personal belongings from his second wife for his kids that had sentimental value to them.
