Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan
Fiduciary
My question is: My mother passed away a few years ago leaving everything to my adopted brothers. We had went to court because one of the adopted brothers was asking to be named executor so he could sell the house.
There was no contesting his request. Now I have received a notice from the State of Michigan Probate Court County of Wayne with the order: Suspending Powers of Fiduciary. It states J-- failed to file an inventory and the powers of the fiduciary are suspended. What exactly does this mean?

Re: Fiduciary
The executor of the estate failed to file a listing of known assets the decedent had at death. Presumably after one or several notices, the court suspended the executor's powers to act on behalf of the estate, meaning that the executor is not legally able to manage the estate (including selling the house) until brought back into good standing with the court. Hope this helps. -Greg (248) 305-5840
