Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Legal time limit to distribute an estate

Is there a time limit as to how long someone has to distribute an estate? Is that person legally responsible of informing all parties named in the will? What if that person just verbally said you're in the will. Are they obligated to show you the will within a certain time frame? I'm in this situation and the information from the executor is very limited. We just want to know our legal limits on what we can push and what we can't. Please help. It's been over a year, and the executor in our eyes has not been responsible.

Re: Legal time limit to distribute an estate

Your best move would be to hire an attorney who is looking out for your interests only. They would communicate with the Personal Representative to get the answers. If the Rep fails to communicate, the attorney can petition the Court to have them removed as Rep. Please visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss in fuller detail. Tim Klisz
