Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan
I live in Michigan. My mom recently passed away and has HUGE doctor bills. She does not have a house, no cars, no credit card bills, no stocks, no bonds. Nothing. The only thing she has is approximately $1,200 in the bank. She is not married and I am her only child. Will I be responsible for any bills she has? I have never gone through any of this and don't know. I was the beneficiary on her bank account. Her pastor was the "executor" of her will but everything was left to me. What am I responsible for? What is he responsible for? Please help!

You are fine. No one will pay the bills as there is no estate. Mail or fax them death am certificates and ask them to close out the file. No one is responsible but the deceased or their estate.
