Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

how long to get a court date?

I think I''m being sued by my sibling because I was left some money in a jtwros account and they want a piece of it.

I know they have a lawyer and a petition was filed last fall in Wayne Cty, but I have heard nothing. Is this normal? Over 6 months? do I need an attorney to write a letter and find out what's going on?

I would like to move on with my life and I have some home improvements I'd like to pay for with the money left to me.

How long do I have to sit and wait for the other shoe to drop?

The fact is, it's YOUR responsibility to see what's going on.

If a case was filed against you, there is no benefit to waiting for something to happen. make it your business to find out, then you'll know whether you need an attorney or not.

Contact Wayne Mediation Center and sit down with your sister and a neutral mediator and get it sorted out.
