how long is a will valid in Michigan after a person has died?

Wills don't expire, but if there is a probate that is settled the matter would need to be reopened. There is a chance the court would refuse to reopen the probate, especially if you were given notice of the original probate and failed to object. A will is valid forever, but it is obviously important that the original or copies exist. The probate process is necessary to effectuate the provisions of the will. www.lawgreg.com
