Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Michigan Inheritance Law

I found my biological father after 56 years who lives in Michigan. He is listed on my birth certificate and he acknowledges that he is my father. What are my rights of inheritance under Michigan law. He has a wife but no other children. I live in Florida.

Re: Michigan Inheritance Law

If he leaves everything to his wife, you get nothing. A will can cut out children, but not spouses. If he has no will, there are certain laws of Michigan probate that would apply. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
