Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Mother wants me to have car; Not in Will/Trust

Shortly before my mother passed away, she stated to her caregivers that she wanted me to have her car. She also told the Executors wife. My mothers attorney told me that there is a beneficiary to my mothers car. If there is a beneficiary, who would that be if it's not in the will/trust? I do have an older brother, and my father is deceased.

Re: Mother wants me to have car; Not in Will/Trust

She could have left it to anyone with a specific devise, such as a friend, neighbor, or one of her caregivers. If there is no specific devise, and she owned the vehicle free and clear, then it would go into the residue of her estate, which gets distributed to her heirs, or according to the terms of her will. Ask for a copy of the Will.
