Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Mother's Estate in Michigan

Unknown to me, my younger sister had me declared dead in September 2006 after our Mother had died. Mother's Estate was closed March 2008. I just learned this in November 2008. I have no idea if I was mentioned in the will or not. What options are available to me to find out what I may have been left, how to claim it, and what must I do correct my alleged ''death''? I'm a disabled 56 year old woman living in South Carolina, and Mother's Estate was Probated in Michigan; where she was living at the time of her death. This entire situation has caused me much distress and I'm hoping you can help me. Thank you.

Your mother's estate can be reopened. Contact the probate court in the county in which the estate was probated and ask for an application to reopen the estate. If you would like assistance in the matter, please contact me via my website at www.lawrefs.com.
