Power Of Attorney

I have Power of Attorney for my Mother...My Sister has medical Power of Attorney. Do I also need to become guardian of my Mother.

she is gravely ill with congestive heart failure. she is still lucid and making decisions for herself.

With a power of attorney that is invoked, you should have nearly the same authority as a guardian.

The answer depends on the language of your power of attorney. How are your powers invoked? Has whatever contingency been met? Generally, the power is not invoked until the grantor has become incompetent. Lucid could imply that she is still competent. What does your mother want you to do?
