Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan
Power of Attorney and Standing to Sue
In general, does a child who has power of attorney have standing to sue on their parent's behalf? I've heard that some courts don't recognize power of attorney.

Re: Power of Attorney and Standing to Sue
If the child is an adult and their power of attorney is invoked (there is proof that the parent is not competent to sue on their own behalf), then the power should be recognized. Additionally, the child can become the guardian and conservator (or another party can petition) and can pursue the matter in that capacity.
