Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

here is the question/situation: a few years ago we borrowed some money from my brother in law , and_my fatherinlaw recently passed away didnt have a will so we went thru the probate proccess and are preparing the house for sale /dividing the estate between my husband and his siblings. my oldest brotherinlaw is in charge of everything executor of my fatherinlaws estate. my husbands only request from everything is that he have the truck. the older brother first said fine but he is saying he is going to hold my father in laws truck until we pay him what we owe him (which has nothing to do what so ever with the truck and my father in laws estate) we borrowed the money from him not my father in law. Can he get away with that since it is a totally separate matter?

I would need more information to give you proper advise. How much money is involved and what is the estimated amount your husband should get from your father in laws estate after everything is sold? Please contact me to discuss in more detail www.johntatone.com
