Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

I recently found out that my great grandma had a mutual fund set up for me when i was a child. She paid into it for a few years with my social security money that I was receiving from when my father passed. Now I believe that her husband has taking that & cashed it in with out giving me anything. I was the one who told him about it & he sent me all the papers to fill out. So I did everything and his step daughter who is my grandma said he just came into money. How do I figure out if this was my money. He is like 75 now & I'm 28. The mutual funds were paid into for about 6 yrs or more until she passed way in 1996. Is this right? I have proof that my monies paid into this from my probate lawyer. Please help???

With the proper paper trail, you may be able to follow the money and sue him to get it back. I'm assuming he was on the account too, or otherwise how did he have access to it? Was her estate in probate? There are many questions to discuss here. Please call me at (313)402-0853 or visit online at kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz

If your name was on the account as a joint owner, you may contact the mutual fund directly and ask for a copy of all of the paper work on the account and it should indicate whether the money has been released or not. Please contact me to discuss in more detail at www.johntatone.com
