Seeking to view a deceased father's will

My father recently died and he once told me made a will.My stepmother says there is a will,however,her attorney has advised her that she is not obligated to produce it or share the contents with us.True ? How can I view the contents ? i want to make sure my father's wishes are kept.

first of lets get one thing straight, only if your father died with assets in his own individual name without any beneficiary would probate of a will ever be applicable. If all of your father's assets were payable to your step-mom or were joint with right of survivorship, also the will does not apply. If the will needs to be probated you are by law an interested party and entitled to notice and a copy of the will.
