Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan
Sister passed away 4 weeks ago. She had no children, was a widow, parents are gone. She had a boyfriend whom lived with her, in her home. He told one of my other sisters there was a will, but have not located that yet. He will not let us in the house to do inventory of her things. We need to know what our rights are as next of kin....thank you, denise

I am an attorney that specializes in probate and I have this exact situation now. We went to probate court obtained letters of authority and immediately started eviction proceedings. Got the attention of the boy friend and now he is cooperating. Once you receive authority you stand in the shoes of your deceased sister. The longer you wait, the longer you have a hostile person in the home. I can be reached through our web site brmmlaw,.com
