Understanding your rights with probate and estates

My mom passed recently without a will and left some debt. She has an estate. How much on the debt am I required to pay or will they take her estate?

Whoever is appointed Personal Representative has to notify known creditors. Assuming the estate is large enough to pay his debts, they all get paid, and anything left gets distributed to the heirs. If it isn't they each get paid a prorata share of the assets.
