Widow responsibility

Is the widow of a deceased husband responsible for medical bills not covered by priviate Ins. and Medicare? Also bills created by husband and wife name is not on such bills.

The surviving spouse is not necessarily responsible for the medical bills, unless he/she has signed an agreement to be financially responsible for these bills.
