Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

A wrongful death suit was settled for the death of my mother in 1979, on behalf of her children. I was 7 the suit was filed against Henry Ford Hospital. My father is still alive initially said money would be split 3 ways, our combined 2/3 rds was invested in our second home complete with a step brother, step mother & new half brother. Our mothers Social Security paid the overhead. The invest house sold for over doubled and was rolled into their latest home. What do I need to do to get the money due me & any unjust enrichment claims? My step mother signed a prenuptial agreement was quite aware of law suit, money & never used her child support from her child on us or paid a bill besides the phone bill. My dad is 75 & sometimes claims this is inheritance or something he does not have to pay. The case was filed & settled in Michigan Circuit Court. Thank You

If you were part of the suit, your money would either be in trust, conservatorship, or structured settlement. I'd go back to the 1979 file to find out if you were part of it and what portion of the case you were entitled to, if any. There may be some timing issues, however, since you were 18 along time ago.
