Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan

forgotten firefighter

i injuried my back 2yrs.ago on the job while tryin to rescue someone. the city fired me 6mths after i was injuried while on injury leave. now 2yrs. later i finally get to see the judge. i'm just wondering what to expect. i'm not sure if i'm permanetly disabled. because of the lack of treatment i recieved from the city. but since the injury i've had to walk with a cane because of the pain and discomfort. any information would be appreciated

Re: forgotten firefighter

1) you should have had a lawyer on this who can give you specific advice

2) if you don't then GET one

because obviously something more is going on. Where's the union? Surely, there are people who can give you a heads up about the process.

What it tells me is that there was some sort of overriding concern which lead to the firing. This is because firing someone, especially a first responder, on injury leave is just asking for a wrongful termination lawsuit.
