Hurt on the Job

I got hurt on the Job 15 years ago. I left that job 10yrs ago. I tried to get the to settle but they said they would take care of my injury. Well now 10 yrs later I am having problems do to that injury. What do I do. I don't have insurance. Will it still be their responsiblity? How do I get them to pay for the injury still.

Thank You

Re: Hurt on the Job

The difficulty with your case is that to prove that your current treatment is related to the earlier injury will require the expert testimony of physicians. These doctors will not testify for free and generally charge lots of money for their input. On top of that, court reporters charge for transcripts. Therefore, if you file a petition to prove your current treatment is related to an earlier injury, then any lawyer handling the case will most likely want you to front the expenses. On top of that, the lawyer may or may not get paid by the employer and a lawyer may be reluctant to take on such a case after this long passage of time. Lots of problems. William S. Stern
