Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan
pre-existing condition
i fell backwards on stairs while working. i had pre-existing problems with low back pain. the pain in my back now is so much worse. it hurts just to stand up, sit down, and to adjust myself while lying down. i had been receiving workers comp for about 2 months but they cut me off. what is the law when it comes to pre-existing conditions and workers comp in michigan? what do you do after w/c kicks you off and your dr wont write you a dr. note so you can apply for long term disability until you get better?

Re: pre-existing condition
You can get workers compensation if you have a pre-existing condition. The medical testimony is very important to establish either a new injury or that the old injury was not disabling and now is a disabling problem due to the job related injury. You need an experienced workers' compensation lawyer to file and pursue the petition. Check out my web site at www.sternlawfirmmi.com
