Settlement/Redemption
If my employer receives a letter from workers comp lawyer stating that they are proposing a redemption of a lump sum, what exactly is it saying?

When a settlement is reached in a workers' compensation case whereby the case is being resolved by payment of a lump sum, the employer must be notified and be given an opportunity to object. The employer has 10 days to object to the settlement. If no objections are filed, the insurer is free to go forward with the settlement. William S. Stern
