Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan

Wrongfully terminated

I worked for 3 years at this job and the doctor took me off work for a torn menicus and bakers cyst in my left knee. My job terminated me before I even had the surgery. They terminated me 3/6/07 and I didn't have my surgery until 5/11/07. Can I pursue this? Please help me out.

Thank you

Re: Wrongfully terminated

For sure it will be in your best interests to file a workers' compensation petition as long as the knee problem is related to the employment. Call me or utilize another lawyer extremely exterienced in workers comp issues. It is legal to terminate an employee with a job related injury as long as it is not a retaliation for filing a workers' compensation case. Retaliation in these cases is very hard to prove. However, file that workers compensation petition immediately. Call today. William S. Stern
