Re: bankruptcy

That depends.

Many of my bankruptcy cases include a few bad checks. I have never had a creditor object over those debts, mostly I would guess because they are relatively small. So after the bankruptcy, the bad check debts have gone away.

However, please understand that there can be criminal charges for bad checks. Some bad checks can be considered almost as serious as shoplifting. Bankruptcy has no effect at all on the possibility of criminal charges. My experience is, however, that such charges are filed only in a very small percentage of cases.

This is no substitute for meeting with a lawyer, and you would be well advised to do so.
