Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Minnesota
Chapter 7 bankruptcy
We will be meeting with a bankruptcy attorney next week to begin the bankruptcy process. My creditors are calling every day. Should I tell them now that we will be filing bankruptcy or have the attorney do that?

What I tell my clients is to do their best to avoid talking with creditors until after they have hired me.
Once they have hired me, I tell my clients that they may tell creditors that they have hired me for bankruptcy and that the creditor should call me to confirm that.
There's not much use threatening bankruptcy before you can say that you have hired a specificly named lawyer. Bill collectors hear that all the time and don't take it seriously.
