Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Minnesota
Loan Application after seven years have passed since filing bankruptcy
I filed chapter 11 in 1990 and would like some input as to how to answer the question "Have you ever file for bankruptcy?" on a loan application. My seven year year period has passed and I'm assuming that this piece of information has been removed from credit file.

Seven years post-filing
(a) A bankruptcy stays on your credit record for ten (10) years; not just seven.
(b) A chapter 11 is a business reorganization. If you had a business which was reorganized under Chapter 11, you can answer "no" because it was the business, not the individual, which was the bankrupt.
